In the following we list the project supporters and key scientific contacts with established links to the SBNAF team (during the SBNAF preparation & submission phase). Several other groups expressed their interest in the SBNAF project or specific SBNAF deliverables. The pre-project established connections were an important element for the success of the SBNAF project:

  • Prof. Dr. Paola Caselli, Max-Planck-Institut für extraterrestrische Physik (MPE), Garching, Germany, Director and Leader of the Center for Astrochemical Studies (CAS)
  • Prof. Dr. Takashi Onaka, P.I. of the Infrared Camera onboard Akari, The University of Tokyo; Akari is an infrared astronomy satellite developed by JAXA, in cooperation with institutes of Europe and Korea
  • Prof. Alan Harris, Scientific supervisory partner in NEOShield-2, on behalf of the NEOShield-2 consortium, DLR, Berlin; NEOShield-2 is an EU Horizon 2020 project
  • Dr. Ellen Howell, Research Scientist at the Arecibo Observatory, Puerto Rico; Arecibo observatory regularly provides radar delay-Dopper images of Near-Earth objects
  • Dr. Francisco Montenegro, Head of Sciops Group at APEX (ESO), Vitacura, Santiago, Chile; APEX is the Atacama Pathfinder EXperiment, located in Chile
  • Drs. J. Boissier, M. Krips, R. Neri (IRAM-NOEMA); Drs. C. Kramer, S. Leclerc, H. Ungerechts (IRAM-30m telescope), Institut de Radioastronomie Millimétrique, Domaine Universitaire de Grenoble, Saint Martin d’Heres, France
  • Dr. Erick Young, Director, SOFIA Science Mission Operations, SOFIA Science Center, NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field CA, USA: SOFIA is the Stratospheric Observatory For Infrared Astronomy, a joint project of NASA and the German Aerospace Center (DLR)
  • Dr. Anthony Marston, Herschel Instrument and Calibration Scientist Team Lead and Chair of the Herschel Calibration Steering Group, Herschel Science Centre, ESAC, Villanueva de la Cañada, Spain; More than 200 h of Herschel observing time was spent on selected asteroids for calibration purposes
  • Dr. Makoto Yoshikawa, Hayabusa2 Mission Manager, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Sagamihara, Kanagawa, Japan; Hayabusa2 is a sample return mission to the minor body Ryugu (1999 JU3), successfully launched in December 2014
  • Dr. Albert R. Conrad, Staff Scientist, Large Binocular Telescope Observatory (LBT), LUCI/AO and LINC-NIRVANA instrument teams, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ, USA: SBNAF project and the connection to high-resolution AO imaging systems
  • Dr. John Stansberry, STScI Solar System Lead for JWST, JWST NIRCam Instrument Scientist, Space Telescope Science Institute, Baltimore, MD, USA: SBNAF and the connection to JWST.
  • Dr. Andreas Nathues, DAWN team, Max-Planck-Institut für Sonnensystemforschung, Göttingen, Germany, DAWN team: DAWN visited recently the main-belt asteroid Vesta and is currently at the largest asteroid Ceres. DAWN information is crucial for validation and calibration aspects within the SBNAF project.
  • Dr. Pierre Cox, Director ALMA observatory, & Dr. Rüdiger Kneissl, Calibration contact point, Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array, Llano de Chajnantor, Atacama desert, Chile: high-quality asteroid model solutions are very important for ALMA calibration.
